Lyrics:
Twig [Version (a)]:

You know how it is
It's like my lady's gone, you know
I'll just let my twig fly in the wind
Y'know it's like the branch is broken
It's like I let my twig fly in the wind
Sometimes I need a little kindling
Sometimes I kindle up a slight combustion of fire
I let my twig burn in the wind
Know what I'm saying?
It's like a twig, it's like a stick
But it's more portable
It's like my own portable twig
Know what I'm saying? Let it fly in the wind
Sometimes I get lonely and I let my twig fly in the wind
Yea, you know, it's like that, you know
It's like yea, it's like yea

Some creepy weepy willow pillow boggy shit
Transcendental big wheel can you feel it?
Chickey face down trippin' so damn hard
Head splits open stuffin' spills out into the car
Drink a cup of dirty water and a lonely bony frog
Slip me seven dollars and I'll pump it full of smog
Paint a monkey gold and let it loose downtown
Start him with a smile and he'll come back with a frown
He's just a Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind
Twig in the wind

I'm happy feeling crappy in your nappy little car
Squozen frozen duplicated drunk in a bar
Tape recorded all distorted genius machine
Spokesmodel dipped in refried beans
[???] and take 'em down to the dump
Dusty busted skeletons who pay at the pump
Multi nippled rotating DJ sap
I'm shoulder high in crap and my water wings are flat
I'm just a Twig in the wing (repeat ad nauseam with variations)

Love me like you can
Love me, I know you will
Love me, let's chill
I know what you're made of
Ecstasy next to me
The future is bright
Your pants are so tight
Tantalize on my thighs
Love me
LIKE A GOD!

The Song:

Caspar & Mollusk was a short EP/single by Chris Ballew and Beck. It was done on a four-track in ultimate lo-fi fashion. Beck.com says it was done in Beck's house, as well as "bedrooms in Seattle and Los Angeles." The project though is mostly Chris (Caspar), as Beck (Mollusk) only appears on "Twig." He does the spoken intro and outro of the song (the non-italicized lyrics above).

Chris met Beck up in Seattle, where he played on One Foot in the Grave and toured with him for much of the Mellow Gold tours, before going on to his own fame in the band, Presidents of the United States of America. With that band, he would also re-record "Twig."

Here's Beck remembering the song and project. Surprising revelation: Beck's never even heard "Twig" before!
I was putting together my first band, I was recording One Foot In The Grave up in Olympia and a bunch of people had told me that there was this kid who was great and his name was Caspar. So he joined the band on guitar - he played a little bit on One Foot In The Grave as well - his name was Chris Ballew. He did the Mellow Gold tour with me and during the tour we were making tons of four track tapes, most of which I lost while we were on the road. I had this little battery powered four track and we recorded ton of stuff, I think he had a few things he was doing and he recorded that and put it out as a 7". I haven't actually ever even heard it. I remember he was staying at my house in East LA and we just did it one afternoon, it was between tours. A year later he became the singer for the Presidents of the USA.
