Lyrics:
My Bucket's Got A Hole In It (Take 1) [Version (a)]:

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Well I'm standin' on a corner
With a bucket in my hand
Waitin' for a woman
That ain't got no man

My bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Went up to the mountain
Looked down to the sea
All the crabs and the fishes
Doin' the bip bop bee

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Ain't no use of me
Workin' so hard
When I got a woman
In the boss man's yard

Yea my bucket's got a hole in it
Yea my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Yea my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Can't buy no beer

Bucket's got a hole in it
Bucket's got a hole in it
Bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
Well my bucket's got a hole in it
I can't buy no beer

The Song:

This is a high-spirited cover of an old Hank Williams song. The song itself has been covered by an awful lot of people, but I believe it's fame began with Hank. It can be found on an informal tape, which appears to be Beck singing songs with his friends.

The harmonica melody that Beck blows at the beginning of this song sounds to me very much like the vocal melody he would (not much) later use on "To See That Woman Of Mine."
