Lyrics:
New Round [Version (a)]:

Ahhhh ahhhh

When the oceans are dark
The heavens are foreboding
A chainlink wind is breaking you open
And lessons of day
On the blackboard of night
That seem to be erased
And the beacon has no light
The eyes of confusion
Looking far astray
From everything they needed
To keep the dogs at bay
There's no escape hatch
No submarine
Could take you to the moon
And rake you in the leaves
And keep you just as safe
As you are in my arms
That someday someday
Say bye bye
Bye bye
Bye bye
Bye bye

You're smaller than a stone
Bigger than a road
Farther than an ocean
Closer than a soul
Every little word
And every little step
Every new direction
Closer you will get
And farther away
You'll go from where we are
And try to keep it with you
And hold him like a starling
That is from a frozen lake
To a hollow moon
Push yourself beyond
The wall they carved for you
When you bring it down
With all their false eyes
When you've made it yours
Don't forget it's yours
Bye bye
Bye bye
Bye bye

What? Dinnertime, yea

The Song:

"New Round" is a song on The Information.

It is based on the acoustic guitar ending to the ever-amazing "Dior Theme." (Or possibly vice versa, dunno.)

Beck said he wanted to write a round, so he "went in on a Saturday and did this."

It seems to be a lullaby to his young son.

Live:

Also noteworthy as one of the few songs from Beck's main albums that Beck has never attempted to play live.
