Notes: Dwight Yoakam hosts a radio show called "Bakersfield Beat" on Sirius, dedicated to the Bakersfield, California country music scene.
On November 19, he aired a one-hour interview with Beck, mostly talking about Beck's early life in Los Angeles (including discussing some deep cuts like 'Don't Get Bent Out Of Shape' and 'Woe On Me').
One week later, Dwight aired the second hour, where they talk more about music in general, listening to old rock stuff (Ricky Nelson, Johnny Rivers, Eddie Cochran, The Monkees, etc.), and actually perform some songs. They start with a version of "Guess I'm Doing Fine," and then play one of the two songs Beck produced for Dwight ("A Heart Like Mine") with Dwight's band. Then they do a duet on Merle Haggard's "Running Kind." This was followed by a couple of Gram Parson tracks: his own "Sin City" (which Beck did a studio cover recording back in 1999, but has never played live) and the Flying Burrito Brothers "Wheels."
